Lincolnshire Poet Laureate

In May 2011, Joel was appointed Lincolnshire Poet Laureate. In this capacity, he produced a monthly poem inspired by some aspect of Lincolnshire life as well as working with people and organisations across the county to promote and develop poetry and literature.

In order to make the laureateship accessible and promote poetry in the region, Joel worked with partners such as local radio and print media, the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust and BBC national television. He also performed poetry and offered writing workshops at events including the Lincolnshire Show, RAF Waddington Air Show, Lincoln Hay Day and the Lincolnshire Young People’s Book Awards.
